Imperial Dispatch – October 20, 2026 | The Golden Palace of Washingtonium
From the Imperial Court Correspondents of the Empire of Trumpius
It was historic. Absolutely historic. A tremendous day. Probably the greatest Tuesday since the invention of Tuesdays.
Across the mighty Empire of Americanum, trumpets blared, golden eagles spread their wings, and terrified bureaucrats polished their ceremonial staplers.
Why?
Because His Most Glorious, Magnificent, Tremendously Intelligent Imperial Majesty, Emperor Donaldus Trumpius Caesar Maximus, had accomplished something so extraordinary that even the gods of Mount Olympus reportedly requested additional documentation.
He signed ten laws.
TEN!
Not nine. Not eleven. Exactly ten magnificent pieces of legislation, each blessed by the most beautiful presidential signature ever produced by human civilization.
"Nobody signs laws better than me!" declared Trumpius Caesar in our completely fictional imperial account. "My signature is incredible. Huge. Beautiful. Some people say it's the greatest signature in history. Julius Caesar had a sword. I have a golden pen. And believe me, my pen gets much better ratings!"
The imperial scribes immediately began preparing a commemorative monument.
Unfortunately, the monument required a construction permit.
Which, naturally, would need another signature.
I. The Clergy Act – Heaven Finally Gets a Social Security Department!
The first magnificent imperial decree, known throughout the palace as the Clergius Maximus Retirementus Act, gives ministers, members of religious orders, and certain Christian Science practitioners a two-year opportunity to apply to revoke their exemption from Social Security coverage.
In ordinary language, eligible religious workers who previously opted out may now request permission to participate in the system.
But ordinary language is forbidden inside the Imperial Palace.
"This is incredible!" proclaimed Trumpius. "I've always had a fantastic relationship with God. Tremendous relationship. He knows me. I know Him. And now we're making retirement planning heavenly again!"
Imperial financial advisors reportedly proposed installing a Social Security office directly outside the Pearly Gates.
Saint Peter declined to comment, citing concerns about administrative delays.
II. Arizona Gets a Government Property – The Emperor Becomes the Greatest Real Estate Agent Alive!
Under the imperial decree formerly known as H.R. 837, the Pleasant Valley Ranger District Administrative Site in Arizona's Tonto National Forest must be transferred to Gila County.
For lesser rulers, this would be a routine property transaction.
For Trumpius Caesar?
The greatest real estate deal since humanity discovered land.
"I know property!" thundered the Emperor. "Nobody knows property like me. I could have built a beautiful palace there. Golden columns. Beautiful fountains. Maybe a golf course for desert camels. But I gave it to the people. Tremendous generosity!"
Imperial historians immediately compared the transaction to the territorial achievements of Alexander the Great.
The main difference, they observed, was that Alexander conquered vast territories with armies.
Trumpius transferred an administrative site with paperwork.
Clearly, civilization had progressed.
III. The Manufacturing Miracle – America Discovers It Might Be Able to Make Things!
Next came the Manufacturus Americanus Magnificus Act, an imperial command requiring the Department of Commerce to study the costs, benefits, and feasibility of manufacturing certain high-demand products domestically when imports are needed because of production, material, or supply-chain constraints.
A revolutionary concept!
Imagine that!
An empire investigating whether it can manufacture products instead of importing them!
"We're going to have the greatest studies!" Trumpius announced. "Beautiful studies. Nobody studies manufacturing like we do. We're going to study whether Americans can manufacture things Americans need. And if the study is successful, we might commission another study to study the first study!"
Inside the Imperial Ministry of Commerce, bureaucrats celebrated by ordering additional filing cabinets.
Unfortunately, the cabinets were imported.
An emergency feasibility study was immediately proposed.
IV. Land for the Lower Elwha Klallam – The Emperor Discovers Washington State!
In the distant northwestern province of Washingtonium, certain lands are to be placed into federal trust for the benefit of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe.
A meaningful land restoration measure.
Naturally, Trumpius Caesar considered it another triumph of his personal geographical genius.
"I know Washington!" he boasted in the imperial fantasy. "Very far up on the map. Extremely far up. Some of the highest positions on any American map. Beautiful location. Nobody understands maps better than me!"
Imperial cartographers reportedly applauded his discovery that the Pacific Ocean was located near the Pacific coastline.
Meanwhile, the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe gained a significant legal land benefit without being required to erect a golden statue of the Emperor.
A remarkable achievement by imperial standards.
V. The Romance Scam Prevention Act – Cupid Gets a Fraud Detection Department!
Perhaps the most romantic legislation in imperial history arrived with the Amorus Fraudus Preventio Act.
Online dating platforms must notify users when they have received messages from accounts subsequently banned for fraudulent activity.
At last!
Protection against fake millionaires, fraudulent admirers, imaginary royalty, and suspiciously handsome strangers who urgently require money to retrieve a shipment of gold from an undisclosed location.
"Nobody understands romance better than me!" declared Trumpius Caesar. "Beautiful women. Tremendous relationships. Incredible chemistry. And if somebody online claims to be rich, successful, handsome, and extremely intelligent, we have to check whether they're stealing my biography!"
The Imperial Ministry of Romance reportedly considered requiring all dating profiles to carry a golden authenticity seal.
Proposed categories included:
"Probably Real."
"Suspiciously Handsome."
"Definitely a Nigerian Prince."
And the highest honor of all:
"Imperially Approved by Trumpius Caesar."
Cupid, already overwhelmed by modern dating, allegedly applied for early retirement.
VI. Alaska Receives Land – The Emperor Discovers Cold Weather!
The Southcentral Foundation Land Transfer Act directs the transfer of land in Anchorage, Alaska, to the Southcentral Foundation through a warranty deed.
An important property measure for an organization serving Alaska Native communities.
But for Trumpius Caesar, the true revelation was meteorological.
"Alaska is cold!" proclaimed the Emperor. "Very cold. Much colder than warm places. Some people don't understand that. I do. I understand temperatures better than anybody!"
Imperial advisors reportedly suggested constructing a gigantic golden heater over Anchorage.
The engineering department explained that heating an entire state might be expensive.
Trumpius dismissed the concern.
"Just make the sun bigger. Problem solved!"
VII. Fighting Human Trafficking – The Empire Discovers the Power of Training!
The Humanus Traffickingus Detectio Act requires training for certain Department of Labor employees to help them recognize indicators of human trafficking and assist law enforcement in preventing it while carrying out their official duties.
A serious and worthwhile objective.
Naturally, the Imperial Palace announced it as a discovery rivaling electricity, gravity, and sliced bread.
"We're teaching people to recognize things!" Trumpius declared. "Very important things. Before training, they might not know what to look for. After training, they'll know! Nobody has ever thought of something so brilliant!"
Imperial bureaucrats applauded enthusiastically.
The Minister of Education proposed another revolutionary program: teaching employees how to listen.
The Emperor immediately requested a feasibility study.
VIII. Vicksburg Gets a Visitor Center – The Emperor Wins the Civil War Retroactively!
The magnificent Vicksburgus Historicus Expansionus Act directs the transfer of approximately seven acres of federal land within Vicksburg National Military Park to Mississippi for construction of a new interpretive center.
A perfectly reasonable historical preservation project.
But reasonableness has never been the Empire's preferred unit of measurement.
"Vicksburg!" proclaimed Trumpius Caesar. "Very historic. Tremendous battles. I know battles. Believe me, if I had been around during the Civil War, both sides would have wanted me as their general. Incredible demand!"
Imperial historians reportedly struggled to calculate how the Emperor could have commanded both armies simultaneously.
The Palace provided a simple explanation.
"Because nobody wins better than Trumpius!"
The proposed visitor center, meanwhile, remained a future construction project.
That did not stop imperial officials from organizing a ceremonial ribbon-cutting for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
IX. Chiricahua Becomes a National Park – The Emperor Promotes the Mountains!
Deep within Arizona, the spectacular Chiricahua National Monument receives a magnificent imperial promotion.
It becomes Chiricahua National Park.
A promotion so extraordinary that the rocks themselves allegedly requested a salary increase.
"These are tremendous rocks!" proclaimed Trumpius. "Big rocks. Beautiful rocks. Some of the rockiest rocks you've ever seen. And I said, why should these rocks remain merely a monument? Make them a national park! Give them a promotion!"
The Imperial Ministry of Geological Excellence immediately celebrated.
For millions of years, the rock formations had stood patiently beneath the Arizona sky.
Then Trumpius Caesar arrived with a pen.
Suddenly, their bureaucratic careers reached unprecedented heights.
Geologists confirmed that the rocks would remain made of rock.
The Palace described this as proof of the Emperor's tremendous commitment to geological stability.
X. The License to Drill Act – Drill, Baby, Drill! But Pay the Processing Fee First!
Finally came the glorious Licentia Drillibus Maximus Act, extending the Department of the Interior's authority to collect certain processing fees for oil and gas drilling permit applications.
A tremendous victory for administrative continuity!
A glorious achievement for permit processing!
A historic moment for anyone who has ever dreamed of paying the government to review paperwork!
"DRILL, BABY, DRILL!" roared Trumpius Caesar.
Then his imperial treasurer whispered something.
The Emperor paused.
"PAY, BABY, PAY!"
The slogan was immediately adopted by the Imperial Department of Forms, Fees, and Tremendous Bureaucratic Opportunities.
When advisors explained that extending the authority to collect fees did not itself produce additional oil, Trumpius reportedly looked deeply offended.
"But I signed the law! Why isn't the oil coming out already?"
The Minister of Energy suggested that actual drilling might still be necessary.
He was promptly reassigned to the Imperial Department of Unnecessary Technical Details.
XI. The Greatest Signing Ceremony Since the Invention of Ink!
As the golden sun descended over Washingtonium, Emperor Donaldus Trumpius Caesar Maximus leaned back upon his magnificent throne.
Before him lay ten signed laws.
Ten spectacular achievements.
Ten historic moments.
Ten opportunities for the Imperial Propaganda Ministry to declare victory over absolutely everything.
Religious workers received a new Social Security option.
Land was transferred or placed in trust.
Manufacturing received a feasibility study.
Online dating platforms received a fraud notification requirement.
Federal workers received additional training.
A historic battlefield gained a path toward a new visitor center.
An Arizona monument became a national park.
And oil companies remained subject to certain permit-processing fees.
For an ordinary government, this would have been a varied collection of legislative measures.
For the Empire of Trumpius?
THE GREATEST DAY OF LAW-SIGNING IN THE HISTORY OF HUMAN CIVILIZATION!
"Nobody has ever accomplished so much on a Tuesday!" announced the Emperor. "We saved romance, promoted mountains, transferred land, studied factories, trained workers, and made oil permits tremendous again! Abraham Lincoln couldn't do this. Julius Caesar couldn't do this. Even the guy who invented the pen couldn't do this!"
The imperial scribes dutifully recorded every word.
Then Trumpius Caesar raised his golden pen toward the heavens.
"History will remember this day!"
The court erupted in applause.
Trumpets sounded.
Golden banners fluttered.
The Imperial Minister of Stationery fainted from excitement.
And somewhere in the Palace archives, an exhausted civil servant quietly filed the documents under the appropriate administrative categories.
Because while Julius Caesar conquered Gaul, Augustus transformed Rome, and Napoleon marched across Europe, Donaldus Trumpius Caesar Maximus had achieved something truly unprecedented.
He signed ten laws without conquering a single province.
And then declared the signature itself a military victory.
Veni. Vidi. Signavi.
I came. I saw. I signed.
And the Empire was tremendous again!
