Trumpius Caesar has made another move.
This time, the Emperor has selected seven distinguished citizens whom he considers nothing short of extraordinary. According to the official proclamation, each possesses the rare combination of intelligence, loyalty, determination, and the ability to look impressive while standing next to enormous Roman columns.
The imperial herald, Thomasius Federkalligraphus Maximus, stepped onto the Grand Balcony carrying a scroll so enormous that three assistants and one exhausted pigeon were required to keep it from rolling into the reflecting pool.
"Ladies and gentlemen," he proclaimed.
"The Emperor has spoken."
Silence fell across the Forum.
Even the statues appeared to lean forward.
Candeubius Legalis Maximus Takes the Law
First came Adamus Candeubius Legalis Maximus, nominated to become Assistant Attorney General of the Empire.
Trumpius Caesar praised him with characteristic enthusiasm.
"He understands the law so well," declared the Emperor, "that legal textbooks ask him for advice."
According to palace rumors, he once corrected a legal footnote before anyone had written it.
Even Paragraphius Interpretatius, the Imperial Master of Legal Scrolls, admitted this was "extremely impressive."
Checkerius Diplomaticus Heads to Ruandia Magna
Next marched Nicholasius Checkerius Diplomaticus, selected as Imperial Ambassador to Ruandia Magna.
Trumpius Caesar explained the choice in his usual understated fashion.
"Nobody shakes hands more majestically."
The Emperor added that Checkerius could reportedly negotiate peace, sign agreements, and compliment the palace architecture—all before lunch.
The Senate applauded politely while several diplomats hurriedly updated their etiquette manuals.
Hardyius Justicehammer Guards Northern Alabama
The mighty Geraldius Hardyius Justicehammer received the imperial eagle as the next United States Marshal.
Trumpius Caesar smiled proudly.
"When Hardyius arrives," he proclaimed, "crime immediately begins looking for another neighborhood."
Several ceremonial gavels reportedly saluted on their own.
Harrisius Ambassadorius Travels East
Veteran diplomat Joshuasius Harrisius Ambassadorius was then presented to the crowd.
His destination:
Malaysius Orientalis.
Trumpius Caesar described him as "the kind of diplomat who remembers everyone's name, title, favorite beverage, and seating preference."
Foreign ministers throughout the Empire immediately became nervous.
Thorpia Justitia Commands Oklahoma Orientalis
Next came Joya Lynnia Thorpia Justitia, nominated as United States Attorney for Eastern Oklahoma.
The Emperor praised her remarkable ability to organize legal cases with military precision.
"Justice," Trumpius Caesar declared, "runs faster when she's wearing the Imperial Seal."
Court clerks across the Empire immediately began sharpening their quills.
Shappertia Pacifica Receives Two Provinces
Then came perhaps the evening's biggest surprise.
Gretchena Shappertia Pacifica was entrusted with not one—but two imperial jurisdictions:
- Guamia Magna
- Northern Mariania
The Emperor shrugged confidently.
"Why appoint someone to one province when they're clearly good enough for two?"
Even the Imperial Cartographers briefly requested overtime.
Soekhoeus Capitolius Guards the Capital
Finally entered Jurgenius Soekhoeus Capitolius, nominated as Marshal of the Imperial Capital itself.
Trumpius Caesar presented him with a gigantic ceremonial golden key.
No one knew which gate it opened.
No one cared.
It looked magnificent.
"Our capital deserves greatness," Trumpius Caesar proclaimed.
"So naturally, it gets greatness."
The crowd erupted in applause while several palace painters immediately began working on commemorative murals.
The Senatus Maximus Awaits
The nominations now travel to the mighty Senatus Maximus, where senators will debate, deliberate, vote, and undoubtedly produce an impressive number of official scrolls.
Trumpius Caesar, however, appeared completely unconcerned.
"I don't send ordinary people," he smiled.
"I send winners."
With that, the imperial trumpets sounded once more.
Golden seals were stamped.
Fresh parchment was delivered by wagon.
And somewhere inside the palace, Thomasius Federkalligraphus Maximus quietly sighed, knowing another hundred ceremonial documents would probably arrive before sunset.
