It came to pass on the eighteenth day of Augustus in the year 2026 that the golden curtains of the White Palatium opened and the imperial heralds delivered news so magnificent that even the marble eagles above the entrance appeared to applaud: Donald Trumpius Maximus Caesar had defeated crime.

Not every single crime, of course. A few criminals had apparently failed to subscribe to the imperial newsletter. But according to the newly unrolled FBI parchment covering the year 2025, violent crime had fallen by an astonishing 9.3 percent—the largest annual decline ever recorded.

Trumpius stepped onto the balcony, spread his arms, and gazed across the empire.

“Nobody has ever lowered crime like I have,” the Emperor might have proclaimed. “Other emperors built roads, aqueducts, and coliseums. I build statistics. Beautiful statistics. Golden statistics. The greatest statistics ever statistically recorded.”

Murderus Retreats into the Catacombs

The new imperial order struck particularly hard at the feared villain Murderus Maximus. According to the palace bulletin, the murder rate fell by 18.1 percent, tying the lowest level in recorded history.

Panic reportedly spread through the criminal underworld. Countless professional villains surrendered their daggers and requested retraining as lobbyists, corporate consultants, or cryptocurrency advisers—occupations in which one rarely needs to climb through a window at three in the morning.

The notorious highwayman Robbius Walletsnatchus, terror of handbags, convenience stores, and poorly lit parking garages, suffered an equally humiliating defeat. Robbery fell by 18.5 percent, representing nearly 38,500 fewer robberies.

Trumpius immediately ordered the Treasury to determine whether all 38,500 unrobbed wallets could be presented to him as ceremonial gifts.

Rape declined by 7.6 percent, meaning more than 10,000 fewer victims, while aggravated assault—known to imperial lawyers as Assaultus Aggravatus—fell by 7.2 percent, representing more than 62,700 fewer attacks.

The numbers were so impressive that the palace statisticians reportedly checked them twice, polished them with a silk cloth, and placed them beneath a portrait of the Emperor.

The Legions of Kashius Patelius

Standing beside Trumpius was the supreme investigative prefect Kashius Patelius, director of the mighty Foederal Bureau Investigatius. Patelius had removed the FBI legions from the palace archives, sharpened their magnifying glasses, and issued one magnificent command: Hunt criminals, not footnotes.

According to the imperial announcement, the Bureau made nearly 54,000 violent-crime arrests—an increase of 90 percent—including more than 31,000 alleged violent offenders and gang members.

Nine of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted fugitives were captured, more than twice the number caught during the entire previous four-year administration. The tenth fugitive is presumably still at large because the palace requires at least one villain for the sequel.

Four of the Bureau’s Most Wanted Fraudsters were also apprehended. This caused temporary panic throughout the political district until officials clarified that they meant entirely different fraudsters.

More than 5,000 alleged child predators and human traffickers were arrested, while over 11,000 child victims were located or identified. Even in the Imperial Province of Satire, this is where the laughter must pause: Behind those numbers are real lives, and every rescued child matters far more than the name carved into the eventual triumphal monument.

Even Property May Sleep Peacefully Again

Property crime fell by 12.4 percent, according to the imperial scroll—the second-largest decline in recorded history. Nearly 750,000 fewer offenses were reported.

Across the empire, automobiles, garden gnomes, porch furniture, and suspiciously expensive barbecue grills could finally sleep without an armed Praetorian guard.

Trumpius promptly commissioned a new triumphal arch. It would be larger than all previous arches, decorated with golden percentage signs, diamond-encrusted bar charts, and a mechanical eagle programmed to shout “RECORD!” whenever a crime statistic improved.

To finance the monument, the Treasury considered selling limited-edition copies of the FBI report. Each copy would be personally not signed by the Emperor, making it far more valuable to collectors.

The Councilium of Criminal Justitia and the Association of Major City Prefectus Chiefs had reported similar trends, the heralds declared. This proved that the imperial statistics were supported by other statistics that had independently achieved the wisdom to agree with the Emperor.

The Order of the Democratii Receives the Blame

No triumph of Trumpius would be complete without someone being assigned responsibility for the previous disaster. That sacred duty fell to the Order of the Democratii.

According to the White Palatium, the Democratii had left behind a crime crisis built upon weakness, madness, and policies apparently designed during an unusually chaotic toga party.

Trumpius, by contrast, had supported law enforcement, empowered the FBI, and commanded federal agents to pursue predators rather than political targets. His formula was majestically simple: Give investigators badges, resources, and permission to remember what their jobs were.

The imperial scribes summarized the new doctrine in language simple enough to be carved upon a marble tablet:

Fewer murders.

Fewer victims.

Safer streets.

More Trumpius.

The final line was not technically part of the crime report, but the palace considered it strongly implied.

The Year 2026 Becomes Even More Tremendous

Trumpius Caesar was not satisfied with conquering the statistics of the past. Preliminary figures for the first half of 2026 reportedly showed violent crime falling by an additional 10.6 percent compared with the same period of the previous year.

Murder was said to be down another 23 percent, rape down 18.6 percent, and robbery down 19.6 percent.

If this trend continues, according to the imperial mathematician Numerius Percenticus, crime could disappear entirely by approximately 2031. The FBI would then be reassigned to locating missing television remotes, investigating suspicious supermarket coupons, and determining who keeps stealing lunches from the Senate refrigerator.

The palace also celebrated record disruptions of cybercriminal organizations, espionage rings, terrorist networks, and international criminal enterprises.

Hundreds of digital bandits were reportedly removed from their secret servers, where they had spent years stealing identities, trading data, and repeatedly forgetting to turn on two-factor authentication.

Kashius Patelius assured the Emperor that his investigative legions would continue marching. Trumpius nodded majestically and asked whether the cybercriminals’ seized computers had better ratings than the ones in the White Palatium.

The Greatest Victory Since the Lockable Door

As the ceremony drew to a close, Trumpius Caesar raised his golden scepter and accepted the invisible applause of generations not yet born.

The imperial orchestra played. The marble eagles gleamed. The palace statisticians fired ceremonial calculators into the air.

Citizens were told that their streets were safer, their homes more secure, and their Emperor more historic than ever. Criminals trembled beneath their cloaks, terrified that the next FBI report might reduce them by another 18.5 percent.

Thus ended another glorious day in the American Empire: The investigators continued their work, the citizens slept more peacefully, and Donald Trumpius Maximus Caesar declared the greatest victory over crime since humanity invented the lockable door.
