IMPERIUM TRUMPIUS — September 15, 2026
Exactly one year ago, Donaldus Trumpius Maximus Caesar, Supreme Restorer of Everything, Conqueror of Problems After They Have Already Started Improving, and First Statistician of His Own Greatness, gazed down from the golden balcony of the White Palatium upon the troubled province of Memphisia.
He furrowed the most powerful imperial brow in the Western Hemisphere and issued a proclamation destined for marble tablets, campaign merchandise, and at least three gold-plated coffee mugs:
“Memphisia shall be safe again!”
And when Trumpius Caesar makes a promise, one of three things usually follows:
A decree.
A task force.
Or a press release containing enough magnificent numbers to make an accountant beg for political asylum.
Thus was born the mighty Legio Securitas Memphisia, an enormous alliance of more than thirty federal, state, and local agencies.
They marched forth armed not with swords and shields, but with warrants, databases, tactical vests, confiscation orders, and probably an absolutely terrifying number of PowerPoint presentations.
Their mission was clear: defeat the crime and disorder that, according to official imperial mythology, had been personally nurtured for years by the Democratii Chaoticus, who apparently spent their free time watering criminality like a particularly unpleasant houseplant.
Now, twelve months later, the White Palatium has announced the miracle:
Crime is retreating.
Not merely declining.
Retreating.
Because nothing in the Empire of Trumpius ever decreases quietly.
It flees screaming.
It throws away its sandals.
It abandons its chariot.
And somewhere beyond the Memphis city limits, Crime itself is presumably filling out asylum paperwork.
Behold! The Imperial Numbers!
According to the royal scrolls, overall crime has fallen dramatically.
Murders are down.
Robberies are down.
Vehicle thefts have plunged.
Shoplifting has declined.
Aggravated assaults have fallen.
Across the greater province of Shelbyensis, violent crime and major property crime have also dropped sharply.
Memphisia may even be heading toward its lowest overall crime level in a quarter-century.
Upon hearing this, Trumpius Caesar reportedly considered renaming 2026:
Anno Donaldus Triumphalis.
Why waste an entire successful year by allowing it to retain a neutral name?
The Legio Counts — And Oh, How It Counts
No authentic Trumpius proclamation would be complete without a numerical procession large enough to require its own triumphal arch.
The Legio Securitas Memphisia reports thousands upon thousands of arrests involving homicide, narcotics, illegal firearms, sex offenses, and gang activity.
More than two thousand illegal firearms have reportedly been taken off the streets.
And nearly two hundred missing children have been recovered.
That last achievement deserves something rarely permitted inside the Imperial Palace:
A moment of genuine seriousness.
Behind the grandiose language are real victims, real families, real officers, real investigators, and real cases. Falling rates of violent and property crime are good news regardless of which Caesar later tries to carve his own face into the statistics.
Unfortunately, modesty has never been one of the sacred virtues of the House of Trumpius.
The Emperor Discovers Causality
The palace proudly reminds the population that crime had already fallen substantially the previous year.
A less imperial observer might therefore ask whether changes in crime could result from many overlapping factors: police work, prosecutors, local leadership, demographic changes, prevention programs, economic conditions, community initiatives, longer-term trends, or pure statistical fluctuation.
Fortunately, Trumpius has liberated America from such exhausting complexity.
Under the recently discovered principle of Causalis Trumpiana, everything is beautifully simple:
Article I: If something good happens while Trumpius is president, Trumpius caused it.
Article II: If something good began before Trumpius could reasonably have caused it, Trumpius caused it retroactively.
Article III: If something bad happens while Trumpius is president, the previous administration caused it.
Article IV: If statistics disagree with Articles I through III, the statistics are fake.
At last, political science has achieved perfection.
No peer review required.
Thousands Worked. One Man Gets the Balcony.
Behind the decline in crime stand police officers, federal agents, investigators, prosecutors, judges, local officials, social workers, community organizations, analysts, and countless others.
But imperial history has limited space.
So naturally all of them must squeeze into the footnotes while Trumpius occupies the cover.
In the official version, Caesar apparently arose one morning, stared sternly toward Tennessee, and frightened thousands of criminals into reconsidering their career choices.
Somewhere in Memphisia, a police officer may have spent months investigating a complicated case.
Trumpius, meanwhile, successfully existed in Washington.
History will know whom to thank.
“Decline Is a Choice”
The White Palatium concludes its proclamation with the magnificent philosophy that “decline is a choice.”
Wonderful.
At last, humanity has discovered that complicated social problems merely suffer from insufficient motivational slogans.
Hospitals can now announce:
“Disease is a choice.”
Transportation departments can solve congestion with:
“Traffic is a choice.”
Economists can finally eliminate inflation:
“Expensive groceries are a choice.”
And if anyone asks for evidence, methodology, context, or causation, they can simply be escorted away from the imperial balcony for excessive thinking.
The Age of Complexity is over.
The Age of the Bumper Sticker has begun.
Triumphus Maximus
And so Donaldus Trumpius Maximus Caesar stands before the imaginary Triumphal Column of Memphisia, toga billowing heroically in the wind, one hand gripping crime statistics and the other presumably pointing toward himself.
Behind him:
Thousands of people doing the actual work.
Before him:
Years of complicated social trends.
Around him:
A mountain of confounding variables.
Trumpius sees none of them.
He sees a mirror.
And inside that mirror stands the man responsible for absolutely everything good that has ever happened within several thousand miles of his presidency.
A nervous imperial statistician finally approaches.
“Caesar,” he whispers, “should we perhaps discuss methodology, long-term trends, local factors, and whether correlation necessarily proves causation?”
Trumpius slowly turns.
The palace falls silent.
The statistician trembles.
Caesar thinks deeply.
Very deeply.
Then he issues the command that shall echo through imperial history:
“Make TRUMPIUS bigger.”
Because that is the true genius of the Empire.
Not necessarily solving every problem.
Just making sure every success is conquered quickly enough to put the Emperor’s name on it.
