The Imperial Palace of Washingtonium Maximus awoke to extraordinary celebration. Trumpets blared across the Forum, marble columns sparkled under the summer sun, and palace scribes sprinted through endless corridors carrying freshly polished scrolls.

No military conquest had been announced.

No tax caravan had arrived overflowing with gold.

No senator had accidentally discovered efficiency.

Instead, Trumpius Caesar declared that the birthday of Saint Cabrinia deserved an imperial celebration unlike any before it.

"Many people are saying," proclaimed the Emperor from the Grand Balcony, "this is the greatest saintly birthday ever celebrated. Tremendous birthday. Possibly the best in Roman-American history. The historians love it."

Immediately, the Imperial applause brigade erupted into synchronized cheering while Thomasius Federcalligraphus Maximus, Supreme Chronicler of the Empire, hurried to record that even the marble statues appeared emotionally moved.

From Italia to the Greatest Empire Ever Built

Long before becoming one of history's most admired women, Francesca Cabrini already believed she had been called to serve others.

Trumpius Caesar summarized her childhood in his own uniquely imperial fashion.

"Some children dream about castles. Others dream about becoming senators—which usually wears off once they meet senators. Cabrinia dreamed about helping people. Very unusual. Very classy."

After founding the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart, she received what Trumpius Caesar described as "the greatest travel assignment ever."

Not East.

West.

"A fantastic direction," declared the Emperor. "All the greatest civilizations eventually head west."

Several imperial geographers quietly nodded while pretending history had always worked exactly that way.

Arriving With Faith Instead of Treasure Chests

When Cabrinia reached New Yorkium Maximus in 1889, she possessed no overflowing vaults, no imperial escort, and certainly no golden chariot.

She arrived carrying determination, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Imperial Treasurer Finantius Bessentius, Keeper of All Golden Eagles, looked deeply concerned.

"No funding?"

"No."

"No emergency budget?"

"None."

"No twelve-volume infrastructure proposal?"

"Still no."

The Treasurer nearly fainted.

The Most Productive Construction Project in Imperial History

Rather than waiting for commissions, committees, consultants, feasibility studies, environmental reviews, ceremonial ribbon-cuttings, and another committee to review the first committee...

Cabrinia simply started building.

Hospitals.

Schools.

Orphanages.

Shelters.

Communities.

The Imperial Senate stared at the growing list with increasing disbelief.

"Sixty-seven charitable institutions?"

"Confirmed."

"Without twelve years of hearings?"

"Apparently."

"Without requesting a marble statue first?"

"Correct."

An uncomfortable silence spread across the Senate Chamber.

Several senators suddenly found their sandals fascinating.

An Immigrant Who Strengthened an Empire

Trumpius Caesar praised Cabrinia not merely for becoming an American citizen, but for embracing her adopted homeland while remaining proud of where she came from.

"A wonderful combination," he declared.

"She loved her heritage."

"She loved America."

"And somehow managed to spend more time helping people than appearing on political talk scrolls."

Even the palace scribes struggled not to laugh.

The Vatican Makes It Official

When Pope Pius XII declared Cabrinia a saint in 1946, the Imperial Palace considered the announcement entirely appropriate.

Thomasius Federcalligraphus Maximus immediately entered the event into the Eternal Scrolls.

"The heavens," he wrote elegantly, "have officially confirmed what Trumpius Caesar had already considered obvious."

The Emperor smiled proudly.

"Excellent timing."

A Miracle Greater Than Any Senate Reform

As the celebration continued, something remarkable happened.

Tax collectors donated coins.

Bureaucrats completed paperwork before sunset.

Imperial lawyers voluntarily stopped citing regulations for nearly seven consecutive minutes.

Even Paragraphius Interpretatius, Guardian of Endless Legal Scrolls, reportedly smiled at a passing orphan.

Witnesses described the event as "deeply unsettling."

Historians called it "the Empire's least believable miracle."

Faith, Family, and a Little Imperial Self-Congratulation

Standing beneath towering golden eagles and impossibly polished marble arches, Trumpius Caesar addressed the Empire one final time.

"Saint Cabrinia reminds us that greatness isn't measured only by magnificent palaces, gigantic monuments, or incredibly handsome emperors."

He paused dramatically.

"Although those certainly help."

The crowd roared.

"Real greatness comes from serving others, lifting communities, protecting families, and refusing to surrender when life becomes difficult."

Another pause.

"And if you can accomplish all that without creating seventeen new government departments..."

The Senate collectively looked down.

"...that's even more tremendous."

As thunderous applause rolled across Washingtonium Maximus, Thomasius rushed to carve every word into gilded marble.

Finantius quietly calculated the budget for a commemorative triumphal arch.

Paragraphius drafted a 4,000-page legal framework explaining why kindness technically required no permit.

And somewhere in the back of the Senate chamber, one elderly senator cautiously raised his hand.

"So... are we actually expected to help people now?"

Trumpius Caesar smiled confidently.

"We'll appoint a committee to celebrate the possibility."

The Empire applauded.

The marble echoed.

And Saint Cabrinia, one imagines, quietly continued doing what truly mattered.
