Washingtonia, September 18, 2026 — History was written once again inside the spectacularly gilded Palace of White Marble. At least, that was the official verdict of the imperial chroniclers. Lesser observers claimed that His Golden Majesty had merely signed a sheet of paper, but such insulting modesty has no place in the Empire of Trumpius.
With cameras assembled and his imperial marker prepared for battle, Emperor Donaldus Trumpius Maximus placed his world-famous signature upon H.R. 5334, officially known throughout the realm as the “Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026.”
The magnificent stroke of the imperial pen was reportedly so powerful that several rubles rolled nervously beneath a table in Moscovia, while officials in the Persian Realm hurriedly concealed an oil barrel behind a curtain.
The new law authorizes the Empire to expand its existing sanctions against Tsar Vladimirus Putinius and his frost-covered dominions. It also provides fresh tariffs, prohibitions and exceptionally stern letters printed on expensive government stationery. Meanwhile, the existing sanctions against Ayatollahus Maximus and the Persian Realm will remain firmly in place.
Trumpius Caesar now commands a formidable arsenal of economic siege weapons: the Imperial Tariff, the Golden Trade Restriction and the terrifying Treasury Department Spreadsheet—a document so complicated that entire foreign ministries have surrendered before reaching the third worksheet.
Senator Lindseyus O. Grahamius, Knight of the Ever-Changing Allegiance and proud namesake of the law, presumably applauded before the imperial ink had even dried. Within the court, this is considered a demonstration of remarkable political speed. Critics call it the Grahamius Reflex: whenever Trumpius lifts a pen, somewhere nearby a senator automatically begins clapping.
The Emperor declared that nobody in history had ever sanctioned more beautifully, strongly or sanctioningly than he had. These were not ordinary sanctions. They were magnificent sanctions, perfect sanctions, perhaps the finest sanctions ever witnessed by people who understand sanctions—and Trumpius assured the court that many unnamed experts agreed.
Moscovia and the Persian Realm, he announced, would soon discover that no one defies the Empire without consequences. This warning will remain valid unless Trumpius Caesar suddenly announces a tremendous summit, a historic agreement or a magnificent dinner with one of the very rulers currently being punished. Imperial foreign policy must always retain the flexibility required for excellent photographs.
Palace officials proclaimed that the law would achieve “peace through strength.” Precisely how this would happen was left unexplained. Presumably, the Empire intends to apply economic pressure until everyone becomes too exhausted to argue and agrees to thank Trumpius for solving a crisis he previously inflated to the size of an approaching apocalypse.
After completing the ceremony, the Emperor raised the document before the cameras. It was signed, legally effective and—most importantly—clearly visible from every television angle. All essential requirements of imperial statesmanship had therefore been satisfied.
Moscovia received new sanctions. The Persian Realm received extended sanctions. Lindseyus received his name on a law.
And Trumpius Caesar received the greatest prize of all: another photograph in which he appeared extremely busy, historically important and absolutely convinced that the entire planet had just watched him reinvent the signature.
